PayPal, You Win.

I really hate PayPal...but they got my money, because I wanted a 2-month paid LiveJournal account. I really like LiveJournal, and I think it's a worthwhile site, so I see no reason not to pay for it.

So, LJ, here's my little contribution. You guys are almost twice as cheap as Kuro5hin, and you're much, much better for journalling. Many thanks.

PayPal really isn't bad, save for the fact that they are way to slow. I really like eBay and associated companies, and since PayPal is one of them, I tend to like them too. Hey, they get the job done, basically.

Well, maybe, but that whole AbiWord thing just really got me annoyed. Also, some of the stories on paypalsucks.com (or whatever site it is...I don't remember) are pretty bad.

I avoid eBay as a rule...not because of the site itself, but because you really don't know what you're getting when you buy something.

Not true though - back in the "old days" (when eBay was new), this might have been the case, but since then, eBay has really gotten it together and has managed to weed out almost all of the fraudlent behavior. I buy tons of stuff on eBay, and as long as can spend your time looking through the listings, you do end up getting exactly what you need.

I've also sold on eBay before, and I would like to think that what I've sold people has been what they've needed, and I'm pretty sure it has. Sure, there are a few bad apples, but as a whole, eBay is actually a really great way to get things if you don't need them to be brand new and want them for a good price.

Basically, I say don't knock it until you've tried it. I used to think eBay was dumb too, until I started using it, then I began to realize how damn cool it is :).
