AT&T - Morons...

AT&T just called to ask about local service...AGAIN. The morons...I had long distance with them at one point, but cancelled when they started bombarding me with calls to switch to their local service. So I told the lady, very nicely, that AT&T could be annoying its long-distance customers with this constanst marketing hype, and that that was why I had cancelled my long-distance service. She was all apologetic and stuff, but I doubt my little complaint will actually go anywhere. Oh well.

Now, back to my nap. It's been a very long and stressful day, and I need it.

Current Mood: bitchy bitchy
Current Music: The "silence" you hear when you're woken up from your nap by the telemarketer...

Best way to deal with telemarketers?

"Can you hold on a second?"
-Set down the phone, return to what you were doing
If just 1/3 of the people that they call did this, it would grind telemarketers to a halt.

Or, if you want to have a little fun with them, use the Counterscript. I've got it printed out right next to my phone. I almost want telemarketers to call me so that I can use it on them...I've had suprisingly few telemarketer calls though...

Ooooh...

That sounds like fun...I should try it sometime. :) I usually just tell them to add me to their do-not-call list, and if they call back, then I (usually) bitch them out. I asked AT&T to add me to their no-call list, but they said it would take 30 days, so fine...I didn't bitch them out when they called tonight. But I did tell them they were losing customers because of their stupid little marketing thing.

Talk about morons!

Talk about morons - after about the sixth or seventh call, I finally said "ok, I'll switch." Went through the whole process, got everything, and guess what!? The next two days in a row, they called again! Holy crap!

Re: Talk about morons!

Dammit, NEVER give a telemarketer what they want...

It's like giving into a baby's temper tantrum. If you do, they'll think "oooh, I got what I wanted, so if I do this again, it'll work". And guess what? They do it again, and again, and...you get the idea. Why do you think people still send spam? :)

But yeah, they're REAL morons. Oh well.
