I'm back

[This is really disjointed. I apologize, but I'm tired and it's been a long couple of weeks.]

I actually got back from the bay area a few days ago, but haven't gotten around to writing anything here until now.

Spent way too much time with the family. I think, for the most part, it was OK, but there are certain situations that tend to make the whole experience unhealthy for me.

Anyway, I got a decent amount of loot (:p), including a new printer, new keyboard, new mouse, and some movies/CDs. This made me happy, in a superficial sort of way. ;P

The family actually followed me back down to SLO for a couple days -- they finally left yesterday afternoon, and a couple hours later, I was on my way to redstar918's for a New Year party. ladymeep came down from Oregon (via SB) and joined us, which made me very happy.

The one game I actually participated in was a scavenger hunt, where we had to drive around to different people's houses or places in SLO to collect things. That was fun, because there was a time limit, and it allowed me to drive like a maniac on my Jeep's new tires. :D

After the party, ladymeep and I went back to her sister's apartment and crashed.

Got up today and it was pouring. :D This made me a very happy Des. Spent most of the day with ladymeep and kithkanan, visited jennmenchi and ensuing in the evening, and then we all went back to our separate houses.

Oh yeah ... forgot to mention, someone I'd never met before in #amarok on FreeNode decided he/she wanted to roleplay with me. That was rather interesting, although we had to cut it short to leave for kithkanan's for dinner.

Anyway, now I'm back home (have been for a couple hours, in fac), and breathing. Finally got my new printer setup, and will probably try to wander off to bed here shortly.

I really don't want to go to work on Tuesday (or start school on Wednesday). :p

  • A fresh start?

So I'm thinking of moving away from LJ. Every time I glance at my ad blocker, there are an uncomfortably-large number of advertising and tracking…

It’s that time of the year again -- another year has passed, and as usual, I don’t finish reflecting on it until the first 3 months of the following…
