It started off at about 6 with a shower, continued a bit later with thunder, lightning and rain, classmates whose relatives are dropping like flies, then passing a calpoly LJ user (who doesn't know who I am...but I recognized them anyway), gradually making way for gaggles of high school students running all over campus, a network cable that's one inch too short, a segfaulting C program, oddly-behaving freeway traffic, and ending with the most "normal" part of my day so far -- AIMing with kezzerdryx.
OK, ready? Good.
It was...odd. I passed an LJ user who is in calpoly on my way to the CSL after Physics. I know they don't know who I am, and the only reason I recognized them is because of their pic. It seems weird to see someone who posts on LJ IRL -- someone who I have never talked to, and maybe never will talk to.
There were tons of high-schoolers on campus today, probably for summer advising, or tours, or some such. I remember thinking, "they're all going to be little freshmen next year"...and then I stopped myself, and thought "I was a little freshman not that long ago", and then, "god, I'm OLD!!". (Shutup, stop laughing, I know most of you are older than me.)
I got all the machines in 301 wired up and cable-tied properly today...except for one. The network cable was literally one inch too short. Of course, the one I'm going to make/have made tomorrow will be a couple feet longer, just in case.
My C knowledge is sooooo rusty. I was trying to help this girl debug a C program today right before the CSL closed, it was segfaulting, and I could *not* figure out why. I need to sit down and work on C some more, at some point in the indeterminate future...
Ugh. Time to go triage bugs, and hunt myself some dinner (Condors don't forage, they hunt).
