Today has been another "wrestle-with-technology" day...yesterday, I moved everything over to the new hard disk I got for Christmas yesterday, which went reasonably smoothly (at least, as smoothly as can be expected). Then, today, I setup software RAID and moved all my data into that. Aside from a bout of poor planning (resulting in a nearly-unused 20GB non-RAID partition), everything went fairly well there.

So, here's the output from 'df -h':

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdd1 186M 61M 116M 35% /
tmpfs 2.0M 176K 1.9M 9% /mnt/.init.d
/dev/hdd3 7.5G 1.8G 5.8G 24% /usr
/dev/hdd5 7.5G 1.9G 5.7G 25% /usr/local
/dev/hdd6 1.9G 194M 1.7G 11% /var
/dev/md0 1.9G 33M 1.9G 2% /var/tmp
/dev/md2 15G 303M 15G 2% /cvs
/dev/md3 30G 14G 17G 45% /pub
/dev/hdd7 19G 270M 19G 2% /export
/dev/md1 955M 506M 449M 53% /export/backup
/dev/md4 12G 1.1G 11G 9% /export/home
tmpfs 384M 3.8M 381M 1% /tmp

Now, I'm just trying to wrestle with Qt/KDE-CVS to get it to compile properly. Ugh...this is going to take several hours of boring monotony...hope I can find something interesting to do.

I need a haircut...maybe I'll do that. I don't feel like driving all the way down to SLO just for a haircut, though.

Well, I'm off to Dreamwidth. I hope to see you all there! Nice knowing you, LJ. It's been grand. — Des

So I'm thinking of moving away from LJ. Every time I glance at my ad blocker, there are an uncomfortably-large number of advertising and tracking…
